The 8th graders spent last week reading and annotating articles about Halloween and the Day of the Dead. Today, they had a little celebration to decorate their own "sugar skull" cookies. On Wednesday, they will write their compare/contrast essays using the information that they have gained through their study.

Mrs. Corcoran's 8th grade English class wrote letters to some of their favorite businesses at the beginning of October. The responses from the companies have been great! We can't wait to check the mail! So far, students have received items from Red Dirt Hat Company, Maggie's Farm & Aromatics, Red Bull, Bickmore, Battle Sports, Asics, and Mossy Oak.

Local business, Maggie's Farm & Aromatics, really came through with the love!
Mrs. Corcoran doubted that Red Bull would respond, but Brentlee proved her wrong.
Hats and stickers made Carter happy!
Bickmore really went all out sending multiple leather protection products and a hat.
Several businesses sent letters of thanks with stickers or bookmarks: TaylorMade, Talking Rain, Apple, Hershey.
Battle Sports sent football gloves.
We received stickers from Mossy Oak.
The University of Nebraska volleyball team sent their love and autographs.
Aden received a free hat from the Red Dirt Hat Company.
Asics sent a nice string bag along!
